I found out last Thursday that the seller didn't have the deed package and that the next day's closing was up in the air. Sure enough, it didn't happen. I got confirmation this morning that the seller received the package and the closing is back on for this Friday. Yay! It won't feel real until I have the keys in hand, but things are looking good!
In the meantime, I've been checking Ikea's website daily to see if the bookshelves I want are in stock. They're not. I'm quite anxious to set up a library in the spare bedroom... I have visions of a room lined with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Oh, but there will also be room for a desk and my Cory Godbey prints. And an overstuffed chair and a Flokati rug. ;)
I'm also looking forward to curating a personal art gallery of friends' original works. I have dreamt of opening a coffee shop/tea house/art gallery/book shop/concert venue and have decided that my house will suffice. Well, I don't see myself selling books, but you never know. Antique books? Maybe in the future. As for house concerts, they will be intimate - it's a cozy (small) house...

The Day is Drawing Near...
In approximately 2 days and 47 minutes, I will be the owner of a cozy 1937 cottage - not only my first home, but the first place I'll be able to call my own. I also hope to make it my own and will chronicle my progress here on this blog.
I think a new house is a great way to begin a new decade!
